Grimes County Democrats meet the first Saturday of each month, that’s April 4th @ 3pm in the Grimes County Commissioners Court room. Located at 273 Buffington Lane in Anderson.

The American Legion Post 84 in Madisonville would like to invite everyone to play in their weekly 42-Dominoe Tournament on Weds & Thurs. @7pm. There is a $10 entry fee required and partners are picked at random. For more information call Mark Tinsley @ 936-348-6036.

American Legion Post 335 will host a Vendors Market each quarter throughout 2020 supporting Leon County Veterans & active Military on Saturdays from 9 to 5pm, located @ 346 North Hwy 75 in Centerville. The Woodmen Lodge meets at 6:30 pm the first Thursday of each month that’s April 2nd at the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Dept.

The Kruzin Eagles Riding Group meets at 10 am the first Saturday of each month, which is April 2nd at the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Dept. then goes for a ride. There is a monthly potluck supper. For information call Tim at 936-245-0997.

Rock Hounds will meet every second Thursday of the month at  6:30 pm which is on April 9th, located at 102 S. McIver in the old Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist church of Madisonville. There’s no age requirement or cost, anyone who is interested in rocks, minerals, fossils, Indian artifact and even metal detecting will enjoy this group. Brazos Valley Community Action Agency is accepting applications for its Head Start program for the upcoming school Year. Contact the center for more information at 936-348-3915. The Captain John McAdams Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be compiling Madison County history during World War II. Ask the public to recall a true story of how World War II affected their family members in any way. Submit stories to Madison County Library, Museum, courthouse and Walker’s Café by July 31st. for more information contact Patsy Strawther.

Church Events   - March 25th, 2020

Madisonville Christian Fellowship is hosting a monthly Veterans coffee and fellowship at the church - 3973 Tx Hwy 21 on the first Saturday of each month which will be April 4th  from 8 to 10:00 am, with a guest speaker at 8am. For more information please call Jim Vance at 936-348-1126.

Midway Church of Christ will hold their Lanier Stevens Memorial Gospel Singing on the 2nd Tues of every other month, that’s May 12th at the Fellowship Hall. Finger food will be served at 6pm and the singing will start around 6:30pm. Dennis Ivey will be hosting the event, anyone that likes to sing or play an instrument or simply enjoys good ‘ole Gospel & Country music is invited.

West End Cemetery Group will meet the first Monday of every month, that’s April 6th@ 6 pm in the Senior Citizen’s Facility. Be encouraged to attend & please spread the word to others.
