Grimes County Democrats meet the first Saturday of each month, that’s June 1st @ 3pm in the Grimes County Commissioners Court room. Located at 273 Buffington Lane, in Anderson.


The American Legion Family Post 84 meets at the Woodbine Restaurant @ 6:30pm the first Tuesday of each month that would be June4th.

Also……The American Legion Post 84 in Madisonville would like to invite everyone to play in their weekly 42-Dominoe Tournament on Weds & Thurs. @7pm. There is a $10 entry fee required and random partners. For more information call Mark Tinsley @ 936-348-6036


The Woodmen Lodge meets at 6:30 pm the first Thursday of each month that’s June 6th at the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Dept.


The Kruzin Eagles Riding Group meets at 10 am the first Saturday of each month, which is June 1st at the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Dept. then goes for a ride. There is a monthly potluck supper. For information call Tim at 936-245-0997.


Rock Hounds will meet every second Thursday of the month which is 6:30 pm on June 13th, located at 102 S. McIver “The 1st United Methodist Church of Madisonville” in the old Fellowship Hall. There’s no age requirement or cost, anyone who is interested in rocks, minerals, fossils, Indian artifact and even metal detecting will enjoy this group. Brazos Valley Community Action Agency is accepting applications for its Head Start program for the upcoming school Year. Tails of Loss is a free Community Grief Program for pet loss , being held from 10 to 11:30 am the second Saturday of each month that’s June 8th  at the Mending Hearts Grief Center. Located 2112 Southwood Drive in College Station. Grief for the loss of a pet can be complicated, impacting people emotionally, physically, spiritually, and socially. Library Storytime for pre-school aged is @ 10am Thursdays at Madison County Library,  June 27th thru Aug. Storytime has story’s, rhymes, songs, finger plays, movement & activities and other activities to promote early literacy & skills. High School Equivalency Testing will be offered through Region 6 ESC and the Madison County Public Library on the third Friday of the month which is April 19th through July 19th. Madisonville Christian Fellowship is hosting a monthly Veterans coffee and fellowship at the church - 3973 Tx Hwy 21 on the first Saturday of each month which will be June 1st from 8 to 10:00 am, with a guest speaker at 8am. For more information please call Jim Vance at 936-348-1126.


Midway Church of Christ will hold their Lanier Stevens Memorial Gospel Singing on the 2nd Tues of every other month, that’s May 21st at the Fellowship Hall. Finger food will be served at 6pm and the singing will start around 6:30pm. Dennis Ivey will be hosting the event, anyone that likes to sing or play an instrument or simply enjoys good ‘ole Gospel & Country music is invited.


A Madisonville Prayer Group will hold weekly sessions at 12:30pm Saturdays at the House of Hope located at 901 W. Trinity. All concerned residents are welcome. For information call Ferney Lord at 936-662-7856.



West End Cemetery Group will meet the first Monday of every month, that’s June 3rd @ 6 pm in the Senior Citizen’s Facility. Be encouraged to attend & please spread the word to others.

Lake View Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor C.T Green’s 10th Anniversary at the church, 3:30pm May 19th at the Kimbro Center. The guest speaker will be Pastor Ronald Eagleton of new Life NBC of Huntsville. Dinner will be served following the service.



Moon River Ranch at 110 S. Elm St. will hold an Open House to showcase an Art’s Studio, art gallery, with music & more from 2 to 6pm May 25th. The event will offer a wine taster with appetizers, as well as live music from Eugene Eugene and Misslette the singing Cowgirl.
