NAACP Chapter 6193 meets every third Saturday of the month that’s July 21st @ 9AM @ the Madisonville Senior community Center on Amos St. in Madisonville, for more information call President Steven Green @ 936-348-4602.


Grimes County Democrats meet the first Saturday of each month, that’s July 7th @ 3pm in the Grimes County Commissioners Court room. Located at 273 Buffington Lane, in Anderson.


The American Legion Family Post 84 meets at 6:30pm the first Tuesday of each month that would be July 3rd.


The Woodmen Lodge meets at 6:30 pm the first Thursday of each month that’s July 5th  at the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Dept.


The Kruzin Eagles Riding Group meets at 10 am the first Saturday of each month, which is July 7th at the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Dept. then goes for a ride. There is a monthly potluck supper. For information call Tim at 936-245-0997.

Rock Hounds will meet every second Thursday of the month which is 6:30 pm on July 12th, located at 102 S. McIver “The 1st Methodist Church of Madisonville” in the old Fellowship Hall. There’s no age requirement or cost, Anyone who is interested in rocks, minerals, fossils, Indian artifact and even metal detecting will enjoy this group.

Madisonville Christian Fellowship is hosting a monthly Veterans coffee and fellowship at the church on 3973 Hwy 21 East, on the first Saturday of each month which will be June 2nd from 8 to 10:00 am, with a guest speaker at 8am. Midway Church of Christ will hold their Lanier Stevens Gospel Gathering on every third Tues on every other month, that’s July 17th at the Fellowship Hall. Finger food will be served at 6pm and the singing will start around 6:30pm.  Anyone that likes to sing or play an instrument or simply enjoys good ‘ole Gospel & Country music is invited.

First Baptist Church of North Zulch will hold an all-day benefit June 23rd for 11 year old Alex Ayala, who suffers from blind eye disease.
